I used CCS64 with the machine code monitor to alter the following addresses to make the game a little more fun, I don't know if Vice has a built in machine code monitor, but I guess the addresses will be the same to change if you do have one - they're in hex though as that's what the CCS64 assembly shows: It works like this: load the game as normal, and when the title screen shows up press fire so that you are sitting in room A2, you can then use the assembler to change certain addresses by pressing F9 and selecting 'Machine Code Monitor' You can do any or all of the following, just follow instructions: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INFINITE STAMINA: Type D4B2E and you'll see something that looks like this: ,4B2E 76 03 use the arrow keys to move over the 76 and change it to 00 (zero zero) then move over the 03 and change it to EA It should now look like this: ,4B2E 00 EA press enter, then esc twice to return back to the game and you have infinite stamina! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPELL AMULETS: Go into the machine code monitor (F9) Roimort 036A Cobron 036B Magusaan 036C Quasilin 036D Wispith 0365 Draconis 0366 Mingos 0367 Krakoli 0368 For each spell you want, do the following: Type Dxxxx where xxxx is the code of the spell you want shown above, and it should look something like this: ,036D 00 For example if you want the Quasilin Amulet, move the cursor over the 00 and change it to 01 and press enter, then esc twice to return to the game. I tell you, it's great finally getting even with all those Quasilin monsters!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ITEMS Go into the machine code monitor (F9) Current Stamina: 0376 Wisdom: 0375 Scroll Pieces: 037A Portcullis Keys: 036F Trapdoor Keys: 0370 Fungata Potions: 0371 Cloronar Potions: 0372 Stamina Potions: 036E For each item you want, do the following: Type Dxxxx where xxxx is the code of the item you want shown above, and it should look something like this: ,036E 00 Move the cursor over the 00 and change it to the number you want. IMPORTANT!!!! * For current stamina, you can change the 00 to FF and your stamina will be 256%, although it will only show 100% - it will go down gradually though, so don't go banging into monsters thinking you have infinite life this way... * Wisdom does not go higher than 100 - in hex this is 64 so if you want full wisdom in the game, change the 00 to 64. * There are only 8 scroll pieces in the game, so change the 00 to 08 if you want all of them. * Portcullis Keys - if you change the 00 to 63 it will give you 99 keys (63 hex is 99 in decimal format) * Trapdoor Keys - if you change the 00 to 63 it will give you 99 keys. * Fungata Potions - There are only several of these in the game anyway, so don't change the 00 to anything greater than 05 * Cloronar Potions - You only need 1 of these, so change the 00 to 01 * Stamina Potions - if you change the 00 to 63 it will give you 99 potions. After you've made a change to a number, press enter, then esc twice to return to the game - you won't notice anything changed until you use or pick up an item - eg if you gave yourself 99 stamina potions at the start of the game, it will still say 0 on the screen, but once you use one, it will go down to 98 and then update the number. Same with wisdom and the other items - you won't notice any changes until you use or pick up one, but they ARE THERE! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- So there we go, it's great to have the quasilin amulet and makes the game much more fun once you've got it. In case you were wondering, it makes absolutely no difference when you bang into the ice dragon...hehehehe....the wall still closes. I hope you enjoy these, feel free to distribute it, change it, put it on your site, whatever you like :) Thanks again for a really great site Rob
